ILTA Attendees Learn New Strategies for SharePoint Deployment

ILTA whitepaper from LawPort details key SharePoint considerations for KM professionals

(Vancouver, Canada – September 14, 2011)   At the August 21-25 International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Conference in Nashville, dozens of KM and IT professionals learned how they can deploy robust SharePoint intranets quickly and economically, without sacrificing flexibility, customization, or self-reliance down the road.

In a popular series of pre-scheduled consultations, LawPort co-founder and top portal expert Marcus Liban – formerly CTO for Baker & McKenzie and Littler Mendelson – met with professionals from law firms ranging from multinational Am Law 100 entities to those with fewer than 100 attorneys.  Liban explored these firms’ SharePoint 2010 needs and provided valuable guidance based on over a decade of designing and deploying law firm intranets that exceed expectations.  Specifically, these professionals learned how they can:

§         LAUNCH a SharePoint 2010 portal as fast as 60 days

§         CONNECT easily to their data by leveraging over 40 included legal data system connectors

§         GROW into the future with a flexible portal framework, fostering self-reliance

§         GET STARTED immediately with a risk-free Proof of Concept

“The ILTA conference featured several well attended sessions showcasing high-profile intranets by major firms, but many of the ILTA attendees we spoke to questioned how they could possibly achieve such results without substantial internal resources and expenditures,” said Liban. “It was a pleasure to show them that great SharePoint intranets are truly not beyond any firm’s reach.”

SydneyPLUS LawPort’s participation at the ILTA conference in August coincided with ILTA’s publication of The 10 Key Considerations for SharePoint 2010 Portals in its Knowledge Management whitepaper.  Penned by Liban and LawPort Global Sales Director Hal Marcus, and based on lessons from LawPort’s 10+ years in business, the article offers an insightful road map for professionals wrestling with firm wide portal projects.
